2018\/1\/13 Apply the Alexander Technique into Tug Of War<\/p>\n

We applied the concept of primary control into their thinking of use while pulling the rope. In the morning, we did 12 individual one on one lessons (15mins each), group activity in the afternoon. In chair work, I took them to lean back to find a good state for the head and guide them experiencing movement by head leading. In group, we experiencing the primary directions and head leads whole body follows by walking, leaned back against the wall and leaned back a bit more by another person supporting from one\u2019s back. Then we use a special machine to actually pulling(about 1000kg for 9people to pull), I assisted them with their use while doing the task. It\u2019s a great experience. Their competition is in March. They are still exploring in their training by themselves. Some athletes questioning about keeping their neck not as tight\/fixed might cause strength loose. My opinion to this is that’s kind of a faulty appreciation as I found others’ head can be not as fixed but still create massive strength. The coach will report me after a few weeks application of the technique. it’s a lot of fun!!<\/p>\n
